Costs
How much does the assessment cost?
Fees can vary upon type of service requested. The assessment may take several hours to complete depending upon complexity, information available and number of referral questions that need to be addressed. A neuropsychological assessment may take between 10 to 13 hours to complete. This is inclusive of the time spent one-on-one with the neuropsychologist, the report writing, the retrieval of relevant documentation, referral information, phone calls and feedback. Can I claim my assessment through Medicare?
At this stage neuropsychological assessments are not funded by Medicare but hopefully this will change in the future.
Can I claim my assessment using my private health insurance?
Insurance companies may vary in regard to the level of reimbursement for neuropsychological assessments. Please contact your private health insurance for details of your policy. At the end of the assessment you will be provided with an invoice and receipt that you may submit to your private insurance company.
Payment policy
Payments are generally expected prior to the release of the report and feedback which generally occurs within 2 to 3 weeks from the assessment. Payment can be done via bank transfer or cheque.
Cancellation policy
If you can't make it to the appointment please let us know asap. Given the length of the assessment, a cancellation fee applies if notice of cancellation is not given in advance with at least 24 hours' notice, as the day cannot be filled with another appointment.
